Monday Funday Musings

Yesterday I was traveling home from Florida and was unable to get my usual Sunday Funday post up. I was naive enough to think I’d have time to get it written over the weekend but I should have known better. Nothing productive gets accomplished when I’m with my family :p To make up for my negligence, today will be a hybrid post…Welcome to Monday Funday Musings! This might be a little light on the musings side of things but we’ll see how it goes. Let’s dive right in shall we? Continue reading

Musings: It takes a village

You know the saying: You make plans and God laughs? I think the same can be said for novels. I started the month filled with hope and ambition. Visions of grander danced in my mind that this month would hold great things for me and my characters. Inspiration would flow allowing me write ALL of the words with little to no issue. I’d set goals and made plans and thought about every possible obstacle that might be standing in between me and writing greatness. I had prepped for battle and was ready for victory. Monday Musings: August Writing Goals

Happy First Day of August everyone! Today marks the first day of school for many kids in the Georgia. Getting your class schedule for the year. Seeing who’s in your class. The whole experience is fraught with endless possibility. Continue reading

Thinking about the lessons learned (some learned the hard way) through trial and error and lots of mistakes. Turning thirty will do that to you I guess :p

I was tagged by Holly to share 20 facts about myself. It was tough coming up with things I haven’t already told y’all but I gave it my best shot.

20 Facts About Me
1. Blind Melon’s No Rain was the first CD I owed.
2. Had a job offer in Fiji to work as a Sports Librarian. Also,  gave strong consideration to moving to Qatar for a job–I would’ve had to buy stock in sunscreen. Continue reading

Monday Musings: Grammar

As I’ve learned…no one knows ‘enough’ about grammar. This causes a lot of people to feel insecure and alone, as if they’re the only ones who grasp of the language is less than adequate.” ~June Casagrande~

I stumbled across this quote while flipping through The Writer’s Daily Companion. It was one of those times when an entry felt as though it had been written just for me. I’m one of those writers who feel insecure about their grammar…like really insecure.  Continue reading
